People sometimes ask how does BlueTech Research decide what to analyse?

The answer is we hold a Conclave. We deliberate over days, sometimes weeks, and eventually, there is white smoke. Or as, Dr. Cat Shrier, Ph.D., P.G.noted, she always suspected we were blowing smoke!

I watched Conclave and didn’t think a movie about a collection of old men gathering to decide which other old man would lead the church, would make for gripping entertainment, but it did. Ralph Fiennes was excellent in the role.

The BlueTech Conclave, has some similarities and thankfully, some differences.

It’s democratic: There is input and ideas from multiple stakeholders. The voice of the Community of Clients, represented by Divya Inna, the needs for the market, given voice to by Aoife Kelleher, the topics are illuminated by input from the senior research team members, including Kim Wu , Rhys Owen , Vishal Wagholikar, PhD Eoin Corcoran.

➡️ Finally, Big Data and AI, have a seat at the Conclave table, because the Math Matters. What do the Astros, Donald Trump and Netflix have in common? Use of data analytics to achieve their goals.

Analysis of top most attended Web-Briefings, most impactful reports are all key data points that inform the selection process. We allow ourselves a few wild-cards, a few surprises, and we expect a few run-away suprise Broadway hits and a few that close after opening night. Water Research, can be a bit like show biz in that regard!

This follows The Lean Start-Up model of Build-Measure-Learn feedback loop. The Research Topic Conclave is currently in session. Contender topics are being mapped to market areas such as Industrial water Research-use, ZLD & Brine Management, Emerging Contaminant Removal, Circular Economy, Radical Decentralisation and Energy Transition.
There are side-bar chats in cloistered virtual rooms, robust debate and controversial ideas.

➡️ – Is the Energy Transition Dead?
➡️ – Are hydrogen projects slowing down?
➡️ – What is the outlook for DLE given Lithium prices?
➡️is there enough appetite and interest in creating products to unclock value in SDG6 or are companies battoning the hatches and focused on near-term revenue generating market opportunities.
➡️ – Is Produced Water Re-use really going to be a thing?
➡️ – What’s all the hype about BiPolar Membranes, who is active and leading the applications.

And eventually, there will be a puff
